Back in the dark ages a gathering of men were lamenting the fact that whenever their village got invaded they could never beat their enemies at the traditional highland stone toss and hammer throw competitions. In a moment of anger one of the men struck a small rock with a stick, which sent the pebble soaring directly into a gopher hole. This gave the men an idea for a new game, and by making the low score win they could trick and beat the invaders. In honor of the burrowing rodent whose hole was so providently placed they named the game “goph.” They were soon sued by the gopher community over copyright infringement and had to change the name of the game to “golf. “

The golfing tradition has been carried on through the centuries and now golf courses dot the land. Spanish Oaks golf course is an 18 hole golf course with a par of 72. They have a PGA specialist on hand to help you get your golf score so low it can do the limbo underneath Tiger’s. Billy Casper, a PGA champion, designed the course layout for a challenging fun game of goph... I mean golf. Just watch out for those gopher holes!
